With its thatched roof, white stripes and wooden pergolas, Villa PE08 feels like a cosy fisherman’s hut. Inside, the arty peacock blue details add warmth to the immaculate walls and pearl grey waxed concrete. The artisanal light fixtures, the wicker furniture and woven rugs give the décor a bohemian touch. Mismatched Scandinavian chairs add a touch of modernity arranged around the big table in recovered wood. On the bookcases in the large library, the books and glass vases stand next to the curios bought at the flea market. In the rooms, the seaside furniture and contemporary art mix with African-inspired items, photos of the savanna and colour prints.
Have breakfast under the covered pergola while admiring the view of the Mediterranean garden populated by lizards and migrating birds. Untamed nature seems to spread for as far as the eye can see. Cross the fields and rice paddies to reach Praia Do Pego beach. On the terrace on stilts at the restaurant Sal, enjoy a plate of clams drenched in lemon juice while listening to the waves crash on the beach. Back at the villa, swim a few laps in the pool to cool off or sip a mojito as you dig your toes into the sand.
